(Week 1 - story telling with rule of thirds)

Hey everyone!

So as I mentioned in the last post, I am doing a 52 week photography challenge from Dogwood Photography. (source: https://dogwood.photography/52weekchallenge2017.html) The first week is about telling a story using the photography technique, rule of thirds.

The rule of thirds is a general composition rule in photography that can add interest to a photo. I like using this technique when I am shooting very basic scenes like this one to make it unique.

I actually took this photo yesterday while my friend and I took our Mississippi friend out to experience a real Canadian winter weekend. I have spent many weekends on the lake all bundled up, standing by a fire (that the wind kept blowing out yesterday), looking down the hole and waiting for the fish to bite. The fish didn't actually bite yesterday.... but I think our friend got a genuine experience lol.

I chose to use this weeks challenge to try to tell the story of something many Canadians have done while living and growing up here. I chose to not use the faces of my friends in the photo so you can imagine yourself in that situation, in this photo, to bring you back to those great memories. I hope I have done this weeks task justice! Thanks for checking out this post and I will see you back here next week!

(Here is proof she really was having a good time.... and yes she is wearing multiple jackets lol! )
