Commitment Issues... just kidding

Sooo apparently my commitment issues stretch into my website maintenance as well. Though I don't think anyone has been checking for regular updates, if any of you were, I am sorry. But in all honesty, life just got busy. I moved, and with moving comes packing, and unpacking, cleaning, getting the place fixed up to rent, and now working on things at the new place. I have still been out shooting just unfortunately not as often as I would like too. Also anyone who has fibromyalgia knows, winter and spring are just the worst for flare ups... but I digress.

Now all excuses aside, I really want to make this a thing because I love having a place where I can look at my photography and see how my skills have changed, and improved... well hopefully improved.

If you check out my albums page, you will notice I do have a 2017 album up now and I will be updating it with photos that I have that don't have a specific event or trip associated with them. A lot of my photos recently come from driving down back roads on my way home or just exploring my own backyard. I carry my camera with me everywhere because I never know when I will get some inspiration or see some awesome animals. I think one of the reasons I love nature and animal photography is because it can be so spontaneous, like the moose picture that I will post below this story.

It really isn't much of a story, but just illustrates how an opportunity can arise when you least expect it. So I was driving home from the near by city and it was one of those rare occasions where I did not have my camera with me. I am always looking around while I drive, especially when driving straight roads in the country, and this particular day I spotted a moose. Now, even though I live in Canada, I don't see moose very often, and when I do it is usually from a distance. It was just chilling in someones yard eating, so I pulled over and watched it.... and that is when I realised I did not have my camera with me. Luckily, I was about 7 minutes from home. I raced home, grabbed my gear and raced back and thankfully it was still there. So I pulled over, got out of my car ( which I realise people will criticise but I was right beside it and quite far from the moose that hadn't noticed me... oh and there was a fence between us since it was someones yard), and started shooting. I was thrilled. It hung out for a bit even after it noticed me, but eventually it got camera shy and headed off into the bushes to visit Sean Spicer. So basically, to make my long story even longer, I have since been hauling my camera gear everywhere.

So since we're all caught up on this fascinating life I live, I will hopefully try to have some more commitment and update you regularly.

Sincerely,

Jenn
